Editorial Specifics
After developing Bar Nine as a fictional brand, this magazine features specific coffee shops from the south side of Atlanta, a playful color palette, and other informational articles surrounding coffee. Though we were allowed to use articles found, all designs, photography, illustration, and latte art is my own. This project really allowed me to express all avenues of my artistic capabilities in a tangible, physical medium.
Maintaining a balance between my own style and the style of our brand was critical to building fluidity between each issue of Bar Nine. Although this was a group project, this issue of Bar Nine features my own works exclusively. As a group, we developed Bar Nine as a brand, created a style guide and logo which allowed us to maintain a cohesive system, and decided what our broader topic for this magazine would surround: Coffee in Atlanta.
